John Sheridan has signed his second player with Josef Yarney joining the Spireites on loan from Premier League team Newcastle United until the end of the season.
The young defender has already been loaned out this season, playing 21 times for League Two side Morecambe.
The Liverpool born defender started his career with the Everton youth team before joining the Magpies in 2017.
Yarney has yet to play for Newcastle since joining them and was allowed to go out on loan to Morecambe in August last year.
"I’m really pleased to have joined Chesterfield. I hope I can make a significant contribution between now and the end of the season," said Yarney.
The 21-year-old will be in line to make his debut against Brackley Town this weekend in the third round of the FA Trophy.
