Chesterfield sit just second bottom of the National League after two goals in four minutes for the Ravens cancelled out Mike Fondop’s first half strike.
John Sheridan made two changes to the side that rescued a point in Hampshire last week. Liam Shaw and Tom Denton made way for Mike Fondop and Haydn Hollis.
The first real opportunity of the game fell to the Ravens. Winger Luke Coulson whipped in a dangerous free kick which was headed over by Will Evans.
However, it was the Spireites who took the lead in the 15th minute. It was Scott Boden who brought it down for his strike partner Fondop to bundle home from close range.
Jay Sheridan provided a perfect delivery to Boden but he couldn’t get enough power on it to test Ryan Huddart in the Bromley goal.
The Ravens had a chance to level in the 36th minute when Sam Wood’s ball from the left found Michael Cheek, who saw his glancing header fly wide of goal.
Not long before the interval Sheridan swung a ball into Fondop who couldn’t convert. The ball fell to Matt Tootle who’s strike from the edge of the box flew over.
The away side had a good chance to level 10 minutes into the second half. Top scorer Cheek hit a half volley inches above the crossbar.
But two minutes later the Spireites had a chance of their own. Tootle bundled his way into the box and the ball fell to Laurence Maguire dragged the ball wide from his shot from outside the box.
Just after the hour mark Frankie Raymond’s delivery towards the far post caused havoc in the box but after numerous deflections it was cleared from danger.
Bromley found an equaliser in the 78th minute when Ben Williamson latched on to Coulson’s free-kick and headed home past a despairing Luke Coddington
Less than four minutes later, things went from bad to worse for Chesterfield. Coulson yet again whipped in a cross from the right and Evans glanced the ball into his own net.
Despite Denton and Shaw coming off the bench, the Spireites failed to get back into the game and slipped to a third home defeat on the bounce.
