Chesterfield face Aldershot Town at the Proact in hope of returning to winning ways. Tom Denton’s header secured a point for the Spireites in their midweek fixture up in Hartlepool.
The Opposition
Last season the Shots finished in 21st and should have been relegated but due to Gateshead breaking league rules they were demoted to the National League North, meaning Aldershot were given a reprieve.
Danny Searle was appointed Aldershot manager in May 2019 following a spell at Braintree Town towards the end of the season, where he failed to keep them in the National League.
Aldershot sit just three points above the relegation zone in 20th. Three out of four of Aldershot’s victories this season have come on the road.
One-To-Watch
Ethan Chislett- The 21-year-old midfielder joined Aldershot from Southern Premier League South Side Metropolitan Police this Summer.
Originally at Aldershot’s academy until the age of 15, Chislett joined the Met Police youth setup where he was in the side that made the 4th round of the FA Youth Cup. He also played a key-part in Met Police’s promotion challenging side last year which saw them miss out in extra-time of the play-off final to Tonbridge Angels.
The midfielder is described as exciting prospect who is a danger in front of goal which he has demonstrated this season with three goals already.
Previous Meetings

The reverse fixture was Sheridan’s first game in charge, which saw Chesterfield do the double over Shots with Will Evans finding the back of the net twice against his old club.
