PREVIEW: Spireites host Notts County in trophy clash


Chesterfield will face National League rivals Notts County in the FA Trophy First Round at the Proact Stadium.


The Spireites will be looking for their first win in all competitions since beating County in October.

 

The Opposition


The Magpies will compete in the FA Trophy for the first time in their history, following their relegation out of the Football League in the 2018/19 season.


They currently sit mid-table in the National League, ten points and ten places above the Spireites.

 

Previous Meetings


Chesterfield will be looking for their third win in a row over their Nottingham opponents after two succesive victories on live TV


Against county earlier this season Gevaro’s first goal for the club secured the Spireites third win in on the spin.

 

One To Watch


Kristian Dennis- The former-Spireite is County’s joint top scorer on eight goals along with Wes Thomas and Kyle Wooton.


The striker joined the Magpies from Chesterfield in 2018 for a fee of an undisclosed fee and spent time on loan at Grimsby last season where he scored one goal in 13 appearances.

 

Team News


After being stretchered off against Yeovil in midweek, both Luke Coddington and Matt Tootle will not be available.


Mark Crossley revealed that Tootle rolled his ankle and Coddington has a serious injury that could see him out for the remainder of the season.
