PREVIEW: BUXTON FACE SOUTHPORT

UP NEXT:

We are on the road facing Southport on 23rd March 2024 with a 3pm kickoff.

The Bucks

The Bucks go into this game after losing 3-2 to Blyth on Tuesday.

Following the loss manager Craig Elliott said:

"We were poor from start to finish and the performance was nowhere near what I expect.

"We didn't settle down although Luke's goal gave us a lifeline. We had good chances late on but there can be no complaints.

"We need to respond in a professional manner and move back up the table. There is no point in moaning and roll on Saturday when we go to useful side Southport. It is a chance to redeem ourselves."

And on Friday Buxton and Craig Elliott announced that he will be stepping down at the end of the season.  He made this statement

“After careful thought, I’ve decided at the end of the season I will leave Buxton FC. I have loved my time at the club and made some fantastic memories. However, thinking of my own future, I feel it is now the right time for me to take on a new challenge.

"Making this decision now gives everyone clarity and the club the best opportunity to plan for next season. I would personally like to thank the supporters and all at the club for their support throughout my time here and assure you that me, my staff, and players will be giving everything we can to ensure we finish the season as strongly as possible.”
