Hereford continued their impressive run of form with a 2-1 victory over Buxton, who finished the match with ten men after a second-half red card.

Buxton had a golden opportunity to take the lead after just ten minutes when former Bucks goalkeeper Theo Richardson played the ball straight to Cian Coleman. He quickly set up Johnny Johnston, but Richardson recovered well to deny the striker’s effort.

The visitors continued to apply early pressure, with Ethan Fitzhugh winning possession and driving forward before picking out Coleman, whose powerful shot flashed across the face of goal.

Luke Brennan was next to test Richardson, cutting inside and firing an effort that the Hereford keeper was able to push away.

The hosts’ first real opening came in the 33rd minute when a through ball found Remaye Campbell, but True Grant was quick off his line to prevent the forward from breaking the deadlock.

Hereford began to grow into the game, with Levi Andoh finding space in the box before sending a shot narrowly over the bar.

Their pressure paid off just before half-time, as Jaiden White flicked the ball through to Campbell, who made no mistake in slotting it past Grant to give the Bulls the lead.

The second half started at a slow pace, with neither side able to create any clear-cut chances in the early stages.

Buxton had strong penalty appeals waved away after 62 minutes when Johnston went down in the area, but play continued, and Coleman forced Richardson into a smart save at his near post with a powerful strike.

Moments later, Brennan whipped in a dangerous free-kick, but Johnston was unable to get on the end of it.

In the 68th minute, Hereford doubled their advantage in style, as Alex Babos curled a superb free-kick into the top left corner.

Buxton responded five minutes later, pulling a goal back through Coleman. Burton played in Brennan down the left, and his cross found Coleman, who finished past Richardson to make it 2-1.

However, the Bucks’ momentum was halted almost immediately when Coleman received a second yellow card and was sent off.

Despite being down to ten men, Buxton pushed for an equaliser, with Johnston going close after Brennan picked him out at the back post, only for the forward to direct his header off target.

Both sides had late penalty appeals, with Bobby Faulkner appearing to handle the ball while blocking a shot and Johnston seemingly brought down in the area, but neither was given.

Hereford held on to secure another important victory, while Buxton’s winless run goes to four games.
