Late drama with Finn Delap sent off, after Buxton fall to a narrow defeat against Curzon Ashton at home.
The Bucks started with an early effort after Joshua Popoola won a freekick and captain Connor Kirby stepped up 30 yards out, narrowly putting it wide of the post.
However, it was the visitors that took the lead in the 22nd minute with the ball falling in the box for Luke Griffiths and he was able to smash it in for 1-0.
They then continued to put pressure on with William Hayhurst’s long shot going into the hands of True Grant and James Spencer, who also headed the ball into the keeper’s hands.
Spencer came close again just before halftime beating his man on the turn and hitting a shot that cannoned against the crossbar.
Buxton started the second half better with Kirby firing just wide from the edge of the box after a corner.
The chances kept coming for Buxton with Ben Sault putting a cross into the box that Ben Andreucci couldn’t quite get on the end of.
And there was drama late on after Delap got sent off for a tackle, followed by a brawl on the pitch. Manager John McGrath was also sent off following the incident.
Curzon managed to hold on to continue their good start to the season with a 1-0 win.
