Andy Williams’s late goal met Hereford go home with all 3 points after a 2-1 victory against Buxton.

The home side started on the front foot with low crosses from both Josh Popoola and Tommy Elliott forcing Hereford to defend as the first was cleared and then the second claimed by the goalkeeper.

Despite this Hereford found the lead with Ahkeem Rose’s blocked shot coming back to him and with his second attempt he found the corner of the goal to make it 1-0 in the 18th minute.

But it wasn’t long before Buxton found an equaliser after Connor Kirby was found at the back post by Jack Stobbs, and his header crossed the line according to the linesman on the far side as it was given as a goal for 1-1 in the 26th minute.

Buxton had an early penalty shout in the second half with Josh Popoola being brought down in the box and the referee waved away the shouts.

Kirby then linked up with Popoola in the box with his shot going just wide of the post.

Hereford though kept pushing with Rose coming close to adding his second goal of the game hitting a shot straight at True Grant in goal.

And their late efforts paid off as they came away with all 3 points into added time.

A knocked-on header from Yusifu Ceesay found Williams who smashed in for a 2-1 victory to Hereford.
