NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH PREVIEW: BUXTON HOST BRACKLEY UNDER THE LIGHTS

UP NEXT:

Buxton have another Tuesday night game as they face Brackley Town under the lights at the TSS with a 7:45pm kick off on 12th November 2024.

The Bucks

The Bucks go into this game after beating Scunthorpe United 3-2 at the weekend with loanee Cian Coleman grabbing a hattrick.

Following the win manager John McGrath said:

"We were excellent. A great performance for the full game. The first goal settled us down after a fantastic piece of approach football and we fear nobody now.”

" It needed every bit of concentration we could muster to get the win but we did that and brilliant Cian scored his first senior game hat-trick.”

“The travelling fans spurred us on at every turn and we're so grateful for their participation. On the downside, we conceded twice from set pieces but it's something we'll put right on the training ground."

Opposition

The club finished 3rd in the National League North last season losing in the playoffs to Boston in the final.

They play their games at St. James Park which has a capacity of 3500.

The club have the nickname The Saints.

They currently are 12th in the league on 24 points after 15 games.

In their last game they beat Darlington 2-1 with goals from Danny Newton and Zak Lilly.

They are on an unbeaten run of 5 games in all competitions and are currently 4th in the form guide.

One to watch

Scott Pollock signed for the club in the summer after his contract at Yeovil Town was mutual terminated in April.

The midfielder won Hashtag United’s academy competition in 2017 and went onto have trials at Crystal Palace and Leicester before ending up at Northampton.

At Northampton he won young player of the season in the 2018-19 season.

Last Time Out

A 0-0 draw was played out in January 2023 at the TSS.

Last time they faced at Brackley was in August 2023 where the hosts won 2-1 with Luke Shiels scoring for The Bucks.
