NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH PREVIEW: BUXTON FACE MARINE IN BANK HOLIDAY CLASH

UP NEXT:

Buxton take on Marine on Bank Holiday Monday at the Tarmac Silverlands Stadium.

The Bucks

The Bucks go into this game following a 1-0 win loss at the weekend away to Peterborough Sports.

Following the loss manager John McGrath said:

"I wasn't happy overall, yet we began as we normallydo, attacking fluently. But the Peterborough defence proved very strong and limited our chances. We weren't good enough for much of the game. Our standards dropped away and it was a massive learning curve.

"We want to get back to our high intensity style of play at home on Monday. I'm looking for an instant response and that's the mood in our camp. Together, we'll put things right."

Opposition

The club finished 3rd in the NPL Premier Division and were promoted through the playoffs beating Macclesfield 2-1.

They play their games at Rossett Park which has a capacity of 2200.

The club are nicknamed The Mariners or the Lilywhites.

They currently sit bottom of the league after 1 point from the first 4 games.

They lost their last game narrowly 1-0 to Kings Lynn.

They have signed experienced defender Joe Mattock ahead of this game.

One to watch

Finlay Sinclair-Smith returned to the club after briefly leaving to join Radcliffe this summer.

After starting out at Blackpool, the winger has played for Marine, Widnes, FC United of Manchester, Bamber Bridge and Radcliffe.

Last Time Out

Back in 2019 John Pritchard scored for the Bucks as they drew 1-1.

In the same season Marine won 3-0 when they visited Buxton.
