The Bucks
The Bucks last game was in the week when they won 4-0 against Belper Town in the Quarter Final of the Derbyshire Senior Cup.
Viggars and Popoola found the net, while Sam Tomlinson marked the occasion with his first two competitive goals for The Bucks, securing their place in the next round .
Following the win manager John McGrath said:
"The boys came back positively from Saturday's reversal. Great reaction. Belper worked their way back a little in the second half but our third goal was crucial. Well done Sam Tomlinson for his second-half strikes. All players used did well and it was good to see.”
This week the club have announced the signing of striker Johnny Johnston from Redditch. A 21 year old he has scored 11 goals in the Southern League Central this season.
Opposition
The club finished 3rd in the Northern Premier League Premier Division last season gaining promotion through the playoffs where they beat Macclesfield 2-1.
They play their games at The Marine Travel Arena which has a capacity of 2200.
The club are nicknamed The Mariners or The Lilywhites.
Their manager is Neil Young who has also been manager of Chester and Altrincham.
They were founded as a club in 1894.
Their best FA Cup performance was the third round which they reached in both the 2020-21 season and the 1992-93 season.
This week they have signed Jack Hazlehurst on loan from Burton Albion until the end of the season who previously played for Chorley.
Marine currently sit 22nd in the league on 21 points after 25 games.
Their last game was last week where they lost 3-1 to Kings Lynn.
One to watch
Finlay Sinclair-Smith is in his third stint with the club having resigned in the summer after he originally left to join Radcliffe.
The 24 year old winger had a very successful season for the Lilywhites last season where he scored 20 goals in 35 games for the club.
Last Time Out
Buxton lost 2-1 earlier on in the season when the sides met with DJ Pedro scoring for The Bucks.
Last time at this stadium it was a 1-1 draw back in 2019 with John Pritchard scoring for Buxton.
