Buxton travel to Northamptonshire to face Brackley Town in the National League North with a 3pm kickoff on 15th March 2025.

The Bucks

The Bucks go into this game after a late 1-0 win over Spennymoor Town on Tuesday.

The game looked to be heading to a goalless draw before Martin’s cross was turned in by Shrimpton into his own net in the 92nd minute.

Following the win manager John McGrath said:

"Delighted. This was aback-up performance from Saturday and we were excellent.

Spennymoor are well organised and defended well, with obvious maturity. But our boys kept going to the end. They know the style we want and they delivered. Praise for our young defence as well.

This kind of form bodes well for the remainder of the season. It's a great football club to be at and support."

Opposition

They play their game at St James Park which has a capacity of 3500 and 300 of them are seats.

Their nickname is The Saints.

Their manager is Gavin Cowen, a German born manager that has previously managed Telford.

They were founded in 1890 playing their football in the Oxfordshire Senior League.

In 2018 they won the FA Trophy beating Bromley in the final on penalties.

They have been in the playoffs six times since they came into the league in the 2012-13 season.

Paul Warrington is their record goalscorer and has over 300 goals for the club with Glenn Walker the record appearances holder.

They have reached the second round of the FA Cup four times.

Last season they finished 3rd in the National League North losing 2-1 to Boston United in the final.

They currently sit 2nd in the league on 71 points from 37 games.

In their most recent game they drew 0-0 with Kings Lynn.

They are currently on a six game unbeaten run.

One to watch

Connor Hall is one of the league’s top goalscorers with 15 goals.

The 27 year old joined the club after a successful loan spell last season.

A 5ft11 striker he started his career at Sheffield United and he is also the older brother of Lewis Hall.

Last Time Out

Earlier on this season it was a 2-0 loss for Buxton with Connor Hall and Matt Lowe getting the goals when Brackley visited the TSS.

Last time at Brackley's ground, Buxton suffered a 2-1 defeat. Luke Shiels appeared to have salvaged a point with a late equalizer, canceling out Riccardo Calder's earlier strike, only for Danny Newton to snatch a winner in the final minute.
