FA CUP PREVIEW: BUXTON START THEIR CAMPAIGN AGAINST BARWELL

We are back at home as we faceBarwell in the start of our FA Cup campaign for the 2024/25 season on 14th September with a 3:00pm kickoff.


This is the second qualifying round.

The Bucks


The Bucks go into this game after beating Rushall 2-0.


Following the win manager John McGrath said:


"Two goals, three points. Nice to have the success. We didn't let the stoppages halt our flow.


"Goals creator Josh had a great game, unfortunately picking up a second-half injury, and it was good to have front man Diego back. He is a quality goal-scorer who also holds the ball up really well. But it's all about a squad, including Academy lads who are coming through. Now for the FA Cup."


Buxton haveben boosted by 2 signings this week.


Charlie Finney joins on a 5 week loan deal from Crewe and can play in both midfield and defence.


And Ben Andreucci rejoins the club on a 3 month loan deal after his successful spell last season.


Opposition

The club play in the Southern League Premier Division Central whichthey finished 14th in last season.


They play their games at Kirkby Road which holds 2500 which 256 being seated.


The club are nicknamed The Canaries.


They currently sit in 19th and have 5 points after 7 games.


They lost their last game 3-1 to Stamford.


One to watch


Leroy Lita is a 39 year old forward who joined the club this year.


He has played in China as well as Greece and Thailand and came out of the Chelsea Youth system.


In 2005 he broke into the England Under 21 side and scored 6 goals in 9 games across a 2 year spell.


Last Time Out

Buxton won 5-2 in 2018 when the sides met in the FA Cup.
