Chesterfield Ladies travel to Hollinwood Lane on Sunday afternoon to play Arnold Eagles Women away from home in the quarter-finals of the East Midlands Women’s League Cup.

The Opposition
Arnold Eagles Women are currently at the bottom of the East Midlands Women’s Premier Division and are in the thick of a relegation battle. They currently sit three points behind Rotherham United Women who are one position above them in the table. The Nottinghamshire outfit still haven’t won a league game yet this season and have only collected two points from ten games so far.
In their most recent match last weekend, Arnold narrowly lost 3-2 away at Mansfield Town Ladies in the league. In their most recent game at home, Arnold were comfortably defeated 4-0 by promotion contenders Lincoln United Women in the league.
In the first round of the East Midlands Women’s League Cup, Arnold Eagles knocked out lower-tier Peterborough United Ladies Development following a 4-0 victory at home. In the second round, Arnold beat lower-tier Kettering Town Women 3-2 away from home to advance to the quarter-finals of the competition.
Arnold Eagles Women play their home games at Hollinwood Lane in the village of Calverton which lies near to Nottingham. This is also the ground used by Calverton Miners Welfare’s men’s team.

Previous Meeting
The most recent meeting between these two sides ended as a 3-3 thriller in the East Midlands Women’s Premier Division at Shirebrook Academy in January.
Maddi Frances-Creaser scored a dramatic equaliser in the final minute of stoppage time. Millie Jebb-Geer and Emma Young scored Chesterfield’s first two goals.
Demi-Leigh Crofts, Natasha Leach and Hannah Daniel scored for Arnold in a pulsating affair.
