Buxton drew 0-0 with Scarborough at The Silverlands stadium, with goalkeeper Ryan Whitley being forced to make a number of saves.

Buxton started on the front foot, with Tommy Elliott’s early curling shot from the edge of the box tipped to the side by Whitley before collecting.

Connor Kirby then got involved in the action with two quick chances. The midfielder found some space on the edge for his first and hit over, then his low driven shot was safely into the hands of the Scarborough keeper.

In the 23rd minute, Whitley was called into action once again with a shot on the edge of the box destined for the bottom corner, Scarborough's number one down low to deny the Buxton forward with his fingertips.

Scarborough’s best chance of the half came with loanee Kole Hall trying an ambitious back heel attempt, which was met by a clearance from The Bucks' defence.

And it was Hall again who was running through at goal just before the break, with the linesman's flag ruling him offside as the sides were all square at half-time.

The Bucks almost broke the deadlock early in the second half from a set-piece. Jak McCourt delivered a pinpoint pass to the head of Dylan Mottley-Henry with a diving header just wide; the linesman, however, had his flag up.

Oliver Dyson then came straight back at the home side, trying a dinked effort to lob Joe Young in goal, but he put too much on it as it went over the bar.

Whitley yet again had to stop a shot from De Girolamo, with the ball across from Mottley-Henry coming into the centre, and De Girolamo once again looking for that bottom corner couldn’t find it as it was saved out for a corner.

And despite the best efforts of both sides at the end, the defences stood solid, meaning that both sides shared the points at The Silverlands.
