Belper Town are back in action at home on Saturday as they welcome Derbyshire neighbours Glossop North End to the Raygar Stadium.
Belper have started this season well with 2 wins and a draw in the new league campaign. Wins against Market Drayton and Frickley and drawing against rivals Ilkeston on bank holiday Monday.
The Opposition
Glossop North End have also have made a good start to the season with 1 win, 1 draw and 1 defeat, win was against Newcastle town, draw was against Stocksbridge Park Steels and the defeat was against Stamford.
Glossop have also got a FA cup replay on Tuesday 3rd September and that is against Eccleshill. The winners will either play Pontefract or Hebburn Town on Saturday 7th September.
Previous Encounters
The last time both teams met was back in January 2016 during a game in the Derbyshire Senior Cup Quarter Final.
Belper won 2-1 after being 1-0 down, both teams have changed managers and have assembled new squads, from existing players and new signings.
View from the Manager
Grant Black, Belper Town manager, said: “Looking forward to the game, the mood in the camp is high and the lads are buzzing at the moment and they can’t wait for the games to come, after 4 good performances.
"But we know Glossop will offer a stern challenge and one different in how they play to what we’ve had so far, so we know we will have to be at our maximum to win this game and we will do everything to make sure the players are ready and see where it takes us."
Can’t make the game
If you want to listen to the game live you can download the Mixlr App and listen into myself on RadiobelpertownFM where I will be joined by Rocester Secretary and Sam Goldsworthy.
I will be live from 14:50 with the latest scores from around all the grounds and at the end of the game hopefully, I will grab an interview with the Belper Town manager.
